On June 19, 2020, CONMEBOL and Colombia sent a letter to FIFA accusing the entity of bias in assessing the country's conditions to host the 2023 Women's World Cup. and New Zealand achieved 4.1, and Japan 3.9. The letter highlighted the quality of Colombian hospitals and found it offensive to suggest that critically ill patients would need to be transferred to another country.
